the rules

short version: be cool, don't break the law, post in the right place.

this is a free-speech-friendly forum. you don't have to agree with anyone, and we're not here to police opinions or protect feelings. disagree, argue, hold unpopular takes; that's the point. a few hard lines exist only to keep the server online and out of court.

the spirit

  • argue, disagree, shitpost, be wrong loudly. bring a thick skin.
  • go after the argument, not the person. "that's wrong because X" lands; "you're an idiot" just makes noise.
  • we moderate behavior, not viewpoints. you will not be banned for what you think.

hard lines

non-negotiable. these get removed on sight, usually with a ban, and reported where the law requires it. the box is real, it lives in the US, and it answers to US law:

  1. nothing illegal under US law. full stop.
  2. zero tolerance for CSAM or any sexualization of minors — reported to authorities, no warning, no appeal.
  3. no credible threats of violence against real people, and no incitement to it.
  4. no doxxing. don't post anyone's private info (real name, address, phone, employer) without their consent.
  5. no piracy or malware. don't host or link cracks, keygens, pirated software, or malicious code. discussing the concepts is fine; serving the goods is not.
  6. no spam. bots, referral links, "check out my coin," and ad-blasting all get nuked.

keep it usable

  • post in the right board. off-topic posts get moved or removed. announcements and rules are read-only — staff post there.
  • don't flood. no spam-bumping, rapid duplicate posts, or thread-derailing.
  • keep it SFW. this is a linux/ricing forum, not that. no pornography. ordinary language and edge are fine (see the spirit).
  • one account per person. no alt accounts to evade a ban.
  • search first. not a bannable offense, just good manners.

moderation

  • mods enforce the lines above with a light touch. honest mistakes get a heads-up, not a hammer.
  • repeat or egregious violations: warning → temp ban → permaban, at mod discretion.
  • think a mod got it wrong? message a mod or admin. good-faith disagreement is welcome; relitigating it in every thread is not.

fine print

  • these rules will evolve as the place grows; material changes get posted in announcements.
  • admins have the final call. this is a community, not a democracy; but we'd always rather persuade than ban.

welcome aboard. i use gentoo btw.
